The Institute for Sustainability, Energy, and Environment is seeking applications to the Levenick Undergraduate Research Scholars Program. Students will work with a faculty mentor to evaluate a sustainability challenge on the Illinois campus, analyze available data on the challenge or collect their own, and make recommendations on how to address it. This program  results in independent study credit and experiential learning for the student,  a small financial incentive for faculty mentors, and fresh ideas to improve sustainability practices for our campus. Applications are due April 12 at 5pm.

Students are invited to find a faculty mentor and submit a two-page proposal for an independent research project that analyzes the sustainability of campus operations and identifies opportunities to advance outcomes. Students must have a cumulative University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign GPA of 3.30 to meet the GPA requirement of the Levenick Undergraduate Research Scholars Program in iSEE.

Faculty mentors will be provided a $1,000 research stipend per student project they supervise, after the final report has been submitted, for service in excess.
